The long shank of the Series 4 makes it an ideal anti-eject pattern, superior at achieving the all important initial pricking effect. In addition the extra length of the shank allows for a longer D section on D-rigs. This often helps fool very wary carp which on seeing that the bait has apparently been ejected, moves off with the hook still in its mouth.
