situated at the south end of whitley beach, Half Moon Skeer fishes best on a small tide with moderate sea, starting about 2 1/2 hours before low water. Start fishing when you can just get on the Skeer. Unbelievably, a 5 yard lob into a hole to the north East will find fish. There is no need to cast further than 25 yards. Fish until either the hole dries out or the fish go off, usually about 1 hour before low water. best bait is crab but fishes well over the winter months with lug rag and mussel
